Simple Baked Brie Recipe

– Boop boop. Hello! Oh, there’s cheese on top of my wine, I can’t drink it. Mmm. I’m taking it easy brie-zy. (laughs) It’s like molten hot deliciousness. Hey hey! This whole episode’s about having safe sex in college. Hey guys, this week on My Drunk Kitchen, it’s the second installment of Overachieving Under a Budget, the couple college-themed episodes I’m doing this September. That’s really true. I’m gonna teach you guys how to make an impressive party dish that I like to refer to as baked brie. But really, it should be referred to as super cheap and easy baked brie, because there’s a lot of other baked bries out there that a lot of other people put way more effort into. Wow! Step number one, open a bottle of $wine that you got at Trader Joe’s. Mmm cost-effective! Mmm! Tastes like… Moving right along.

Step number fun, procure a baking shit. Ooh, look at all the… (gasps) ♫ It’s like you’re my mirror, whoa oh, ♫ My mirror looking back at me ♫ I’m drunk. Step number two, open this and put it on there. Open, open, open. Nope. Press spoon. Why a spoon? (yells) Oh. Dun dun. (burps) Dun dun. Oh wow you guys, do I have parchment paper? Can I tell you what I love about my new kitchen, is that everything is exactly where I think it should be. Check it out, look at this. These three drawers, they’re in the order I like. Also this is a Bee and Puppycat apron, how fun! Wax paper eliminates that time-tasking step of lightly greasing your pan. Wax paper! Mmmm. Put your Crescent Roll down. Now this is a super important step, guys. Take your Crescent Roll and unfurl it to be more of a square Crescent Roll. I hope you’re paying attention, this is one of the only steps. Uh oh, it’s melting, because summer in Los Angeles lasts through October! Ok, unfurl, unfurl. Just rip off the rest of it, and then fill in the gaps.

Pinch, and pinch. So now you have a square-shaped dough, but also a little (blows raspberry) in the corner. Better add some brie, ’cause you’re in a hurry. Rhyming is not punning. I need you to know that. Mmm. Take your brie and put it in the center of this. Oooh! You know guys, I hate to get sentimental like this, but sometimes I just don’t know if you know how much you mean to brie.

Rhyming is not punning! Mmm! Does it want me to take it out of its weird mold shell? I’m gonna guess no. Don’t add the brie yet, guys. Mmm! Before you put cheese on top of your Crescent Rolls, be sure to add a layer of your favorite jam, because that’s what adds that certain sweetness that shows you care. Plus I think if you’re in college and you’re making this under a budget but overachieving recipe, you are already showing that you care, and showing up in style in class. Spoiler alert: everybody is gonna have much higher expectations of you, so be prepared to share that burden with yourself and your delicious baked good.

Anyway, jam jam jam jam jam (laughs). Ooh spread it around town, mmm, mmm! Now take a bite to remember how much you love jam. Mm yum! If I was a baby I would want jam to be my baby food. – Ow! Why? Why? – Mmm. Guys I’ve been working on my pectins. Because you never say I’ve been working on my pec. Now take your brie and add it to your brie-lliance. Nailed it. Yum! Roll up the sides around it, and admire how convenient this wax paper truly is.

If you see some gaps, take your little poo-poo leftover and put it over the top, to kind of bind it together. Mmmmm! Now place your brie into the oven, and cook for… Nine to 12 minutes. Really? But what if it has a giant center of brie in it? Meh. Nine to 12 minutes, here we go. Wow, that looks amazing! Quick question everybody: do I have a potholder of any kind? I don’t think so. Time to use your shirt. Mmm. Oh wow! Ow ow, that burns my hands. Oh it burns my hands so bad. Wow, look at this guys, it’s a beautifully baked brie! And all the ingredients I bought at Target, except for the very expensive artisanal jam, which might be the best part. Anyway, you could bring this to a party and look so cool, so you’re overachieving under a budget.

See we have a theme. Mmmm! Ok, so brie, how do I eat it? Do I just eat it like this? Am I supposed to cut it up? Mmm. Make a slice. Guys the brie has breached, and is pouring out onto the pan. Time to take a bite of your monstrous creation. It’s just like Frankenstein did, frankly. They should’ve called him “Frankly-stein”. Oh my God you guys, can you see this ooey-gooey, jammy-wammy of a party delight? Now take a bite. This episode has really had a lot of rhymes. One rhyme too many. Mmm, oh my God, the blood orange! Mmm mmm mmm! Now for those of you wondering why I’m not eating more, it’s because I, unlike you, am not in college, and my metabolism is that of a semi-drunk on a mud hill.

So there you have it, this is how to make an affordable baked brie, that you can bring to a party and impress all of your friendsies. This says “Be smart, use a condiment.” (laughs) So you don’t have a baby. You can’t raise a life, you’re learning how to live your own. (blows kiss) Hey guys, thank you so much for watching.
