Bisquick Apple Pear Cobbler

Bisquick Apple Pear Cobbler

Lately, I’m all about the easy recipes.  This Bisquick Apple Pear Cobbler is one of those easy recipes.  You can toss everything into a 8×8 square baking dish, throw that baby in the oven and forget about it for about an hour.  Now that’s my kind of dessert!  I topped mine with some low fat frozen yogurt and called it a night.  Who has time to make an intricate recipe while you have an 8-year-old complaining about their homework in the background?  Not me.  Summer, come back!

Sugar Butter M&M Cookies

Sugar Butter M&M Cookies

I don’t know about you, but this first week of school has completely thrown me for a loop!  I was so discombobulated and unorganized last week that I didn’t know if I was coming or going.  It’s not easy getting back into the swing of things when your kids go back to school after a lax summer.  So this past weekend I really got myself together shopped like a Pyrex hoarder and went to every thrift shop and antique mall I could find.  That is SO sad!  Well, I am somewhat sensible.  Yesterday I grocery shopped and made these Sugar Butter M&M Cookies for my kid’s lunchbox this week. Peanut Butter Banana Cake

Peanut Butter Banana Cake

I know I have been posting some desserts with peanut butter lately, but I just couldn’t help another one.  I had some over-ripe bananas in my freezer and I just knew if I made a banana cake and added some peanut butter chips and a peanut butter glaze, it would be DELICIOUS.  I had been craving it for days!  So you see, it had to be done.  This Peanut Butter Banana Cake is a moist, melt-in-your-mouth treat with peanut butter in EVERY bite!  If you don’t like peanut butter, you are OUT of luck, friend.  If you are allergic to peanut butter, then you may be making a trip to the ER. Working Full-Time and Food Blogging

When I first decided to re-start Alwayz Bakin’, I didn’t know if I should share the fact that I work a full-time job.  I wanted to be like all the other mommys that get to stay home with their babies and do what they love.  Blogging. My babies are 21, 18 and 8 years old.  I know, BIG gap!  When I married Scott, he didn’t have any kids of his own, so along came Nicholas.  I would have had more than that if Scott wouldn’t have been my voice of reason!  Thank goodness he thinks with his brain and not his heart all the time like me.

Giant Chocolate and Peanut Butter Chip Pretzel Cookies

Giant Chocolate and Peanut Butter Chip Pretzel Cookies

I was picking up some more Pyrex yesterday from my friends Alex and John who own Gatti’s Garage.  The have the cutest thing going on there.  He builds and re-builds custom classic motorcycles and cars.  And Alex has a little shop in the front that sells vintage items.  Most importantly to me, she always has Pyrex!  Alex says she doesn’t bake.  At all.  And since John sees all of my desserts on Instagram, I decided to bring him some of these Giant Chocolate and Peanut Butter Chip Pretzel Cookies! Cream Cheese Pear Bars

Cream Cheese Pear Bars

I have been without internet for THREE days.  An outage happened in my area and Comcast was not able to come out until yesterday.  So frustrating.  Who can blog from their phone?  Not me.  While I was waiting, I was making and eating these Cream Cheese Pear Bars.  I bought some pears and nobody had eaten them.  I knew I had to make something with these beautiful pears.  I decided on a recipe I’ve had in my to-make list from my friend Leslie at A Spoonful of Everything blog.  I had been wanting to try her Pear Custard Bars forever and now was my chance! S’mores Cupcakes

S'mores Cupcakes

I have a confession to make.  I have just recently realized that there is such a thing as national food days.  Remember my recent Raspberry Cheesecake post for National Cheesecake Day?  Well, today is National S’mores Day!!  How fun!!  If I can find any excuse for a celebration, I’m in.  I do have to admit that I have never been overly fond of S’mores.  I know…WEIRDO.  For these S’mores Cupcakes, I can make an exception though.  I wanted the cupcake part to really taste like a graham cracker.  I did some research and I came up with this graham-tasting cupcake!
