Apple Fritters

Apple Fritters

Oh the many things you can make with apples!  I so love apple season.  Although in Florida we can get apples all the time, there’s something about picking out apples to set on your counter in the months of September through November.  I have a never-ending supply of apple dessert recipes swirling around in my head.  Apple pie, apple cake, apple cookies, applesauce and Apple Fritters!  Have you ever tasted an apple fritter?  They are a special treat for sure. Texas Pete CHA!

This is a Sponsored post written by me on behalf of CHA! by Texas Pete. All opinions are 100% mine.

I was so excited when Texas Pete asked me to blog about their new sriracha sauce, CHA! by Texas Pete.  We have used Texas Pete in the past and loved their products, but I had not tried their new sriracha sauce.  Texas Pete hot sauces have been gracing the southern family table for decades but it has also gained popularity throughout the nation and many other countries.  CHA! by Texas Pete made its debut a year ago so you can find it in most grocery stores, but if not, visit TexasPete.com and order it right from the site.

Carrot Cake Pancakes

Carrot Cake Pancakes

Let’s talk about sinful.  Let’s talk about irresistible.  Let’s talk about melt-in-your-mouth Carrot Cake Pancakes dripping with a cream cheese glaze!  As I write this post, I have my pumpkin-scented candle burning in the background with the excitement of Fall in the air.  Okay, so the official arrival of Fall, Autumn or whatever word you hold dear to your heart, does not start until September 23rd. Browned-Butter Streusel Pumpkin Bread

Browned-Butter Streusel Pumpkin Bread

I know I said I wasn’t ready for the pumpkin, but I caved.  It was beckoning me from the little can at the bottom of the grocery store shelf.  I had to buy it!  I made Browned-Butter Streusel Pumpkin Bread with it.  You will thank me later.  This moist pumpkin bread screams Fall with the cinnamon and nutmeg spices used to flavor it.  Your kitchen will smell heavenly while it’s baking too.  The browned-butter streusel adds a delicious buttery crunch that will have you addicted.  Do I have your attention?  [Read more...]

Oreo Crunch Munch

Oreo Crunch Munch

I have to say, it’s been heavenly to be off for three days in a row.  I hope everyone is having a fabulous Labor Day weekend!  I’ve been doing a whole lot of relaxing and that is something I normally don’t do.  I’m usually busy from the time I wake up until the time my head hits the pillow.  I’m not really someone who can sit still.  I think my husband gets annoyed by that.  He’s always telling me to sit down.  And why am I still cleaning, or doing laundry, or cooking, or baking?   The list could be never-ending!  This is where this Oreo Crunch Munch comes into play.  This is a great after-school snack or dessert for the lunchbox and can be whipped up in no time. Bisquick Apple Pear Cobbler

Bisquick Apple Pear Cobbler

Lately, I’m all about the easy recipes.  This Bisquick Apple Pear Cobbler is one of those easy recipes.  You can toss everything into a 8×8 square baking dish, throw that baby in the oven and forget about it for about an hour.  Now that’s my kind of dessert!  I topped mine with some low fat frozen yogurt and called it a night.  Who has time to make an intricate recipe while you have an 8-year-old complaining about their homework in the background?  Not me.  Summer, come back!

Sugar Butter M&M Cookies

Sugar Butter M&M Cookies

I don’t know about you, but this first week of school has completely thrown me for a loop!  I was so discombobulated and unorganized last week that I didn’t know if I was coming or going.  It’s not easy getting back into the swing of things when your kids go back to school after a lax summer.  So this past weekend I really got myself together shopped like a Pyrex hoarder and went to every thrift shop and antique mall I could find.  That is SO sad!  Well, I am somewhat sensible.  Yesterday I grocery shopped and made these Sugar Butter M&M Cookies for my kid’s lunchbox this week. Peanut Butter Banana Cake

Peanut Butter Banana Cake

I know I have been posting some desserts with peanut butter lately, but I just couldn’t help another one.  I had some over-ripe bananas in my freezer and I just knew if I made a banana cake and added some peanut butter chips and a peanut butter glaze, it would be DELICIOUS.  I had been craving it for days!  So you see, it had to be done.  This Peanut Butter Banana Cake is a moist, melt-in-your-mouth treat with peanut butter in EVERY bite!  If you don’t like peanut butter, you are OUT of luck, friend.  If you are allergic to peanut butter, then you may be making a trip to the ER. Working Full-Time and Food Blogging

When I first decided to re-start Alwayz Bakin’, I didn’t know if I should share the fact that I work a full-time job.  I wanted to be like all the other mommys that get to stay home with their babies and do what they love.  Blogging. My babies are 21, 18 and 8 years old.  I know, BIG gap!  When I married Scott, he didn’t have any kids of his own, so along came Nicholas.  I would have had more than that if Scott wouldn’t have been my voice of reason!  Thank goodness he thinks with his brain and not his heart all the time like me.
